These polishers come in three different shaped tips. They’re really nice all-round composite polishers for general everyday use, particularly on posterior teeth.
What’s good about it
Each of the three tips can be attached to a slow speed handpiece by a reusable mandrel. The polishers are durable, lasting longer than others I have used. They work with any brand of composite and the different shapes allow for different shaped fillings. There’s a midi tip, a flat disc, and a cup shape. My favourite is the cup shape but I use all three types pretty regularly.
They provide a perfectly suitable finish for posterior fillings and even for some anterior cases. Occasionally, when doing an anterior restoration, I’ll add a slightly higher gloss finish. They will also get the stains out after a scale and remove excess cement after ortho treatment. They’re strong enough to complete a full arch, even if there are slightly tricky angles. It’s very easy to swap the tips over and just keep going.
I like that the mandrel—the shank that holds the polishing tip—can be sterilised and reused. It’s made of stainless steel, so it’s stronger than a lot of others that are made of plastic. They make it very easy to attach to the slow speed.
The polishers are available in refill packs of 50. Otherwise, you can buy a set with 20 cups of each style and three mandrels. They’re a great product and relatively cheap, as well.
What’s not so good
All these polishers are single-use only. It would be great if they could be sterilised and used multiple times.
