Pola Rapid is a 38 per cent hydrogen peroxide-based, in-office teeth whitening system. It is significantly faster than other options.
What’s good about it
Pola Rapid contains a potassium nitrate desensitiser, fluoride, and high-water content. This effectively reduces discomfort and post-operative sensitivity. The unique formulation releases the active ingredients immediately which means there is minimal chair time with fast results. The whitening process takes between 24 to 32 minutes. The high viscosity non-stick gel allows for safe and precise application. Pola Rapid uses a dual barrel syringe system so no mixing is required. The supplied brush tip is designed for smooth application and the gel remains on the teeth where it’s applied.
As with all professional in-chair whitening systems, gingival barriers still need to be well sealed and applied correctly. Any excess gel can irritate the gums and surrounding soft tissues. Pola Rapid does not require heat to be activated, so it can be used with or without a bleaching light.
There is minimal to zero sensitivity due to the built-in desensitiser and the shorter treatment time. Patients with sensitive teeth find it very comfortable compared to other teeth whitening systems. They love the results that are up to eight shades lighter. The Pola Day or Pola Night take-home whitening kits can be used to maintain brightness.
What’s not so good
Pola makes a range of teeth whitening products and with some, such as Pola Office+, the gel tends to stick to teeth. Removing the gel between applications and after the procedure can be a little difficult. This issue has been fixed with Pola Rapid. Its non-stick gel has enhanced handling properties.
