GC everX Flow is a short fibre reinforced composite that helps to prevent crack propagation.
What’s good about it
EverX Flow’s main advantage is its high fracture toughness, load-bearing capacity and flexural strength. I use everX Flow as a replacement for the dentine or as a core material for indirect preparations. It works very well with large restorations due to the reinforcing effect of the fibres.
It’s not indicated to be used as stand-alone filling material as it needs to have a layer of composite on top. The product is also not indicated for anterior teeth due to aesthetic reasons but you can use it as a post material rather than fibre posts.
I have the confidence to apply this product when a patient delays opting for a crown and I want to provide optimal strength.
Whether it’s used for dentine replacement, core build-up, or for weakened or cracked teeth, it provides reinforcement, fracture toughness and strength. It has good load-bearing capacity and can be used successfully in molars. I’ve been very happy with the results.
What’s not so good
It comes in a convenient syringe but the material is quite thick so it takes a little while to get used to the handling. It would be an improvement if it was more opaque on radiographs.
