I owned an earlier version of this camera and, even though I was happy with it, I decided to upgrade to their newest model.

What’s good about it

The old camera had the battery sealed inside and the whole unit needed to be placed in a recharger. When the battery eventually failed, I had to send it back to the Netherlands to get it changed. This one comes with a spare battery pack and you can just flip the batteries in and out. You can always have one charged and ready to go while you’re using the other one.

The quality of the images is very good and the camera is very light, especially compared to the previous model. It has a scroll forwards and backwards button, and you can rotate images in the handpiece. The old model only had a forward scroll, so if you were at image two and wanted to look at image one again, you had to scroll through to the end of the images and start again.

I have an SD card attached to my monitor where the images are automatically stored. I can then easily flick them onto my computer.

What’s not so good

RF System Lab is a European company and you need to pay for purchases in Euros. The technology has certainly advanced which made the camera more expensive than I expected, but it’s still pretty good value for money. The only other downside is that if anything was to go wrong, it can be a bit of a hassle posting the thing back and forth to the Netherlands.

Where did you get it

RF System Lab.
