Dentists have always been innovative in the equipment and techniques deployed for patient care, but this is not \u2018tech forward\u2019 for me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tech forward is leveraging technology outside of patient care to exploit the intangible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-ai-is-changing-practices\">How AI is changing practices<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The AI revolution is in full force and offers intangible and tangible benefits. AI second optioning systems can increase revenue by finding issues that may be overlooked or too early for a human to pick up. It can also intangibly increase patient confidence as it presents information in an easily digestible way. This increased confidence will lead to more patients being referred and better patient retention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI can answer your phones and manage appointments. This is a real game changer for busy practices. I have observed many practices where the staff are overwhelmed with calls on hold and patients waiting to check in or out. Imagine where reception does not need to get involved in half the calls and can spend this time with the patients, making their experience welcoming and calm! Great experiences for patients will also lead to them referring their friends and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine a phone system that your client can select the language your patients are most comfortable with, and the phone system converts your receptionist language seamlessly and accurately.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tech forward is also providing a flexible platform that allows your dentists and practice manager to seamlessly and securely access the practice management system remotely.&nbsp; This enables logging in quickly to check their schedule for the day and being able to jump in and add a note on a patient file for their next appointment. This flexibility will lead to happier, more empowered staff that will stay longer and treat your patients better.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can also mean having the right equipment. Nobody wants to work on 10 year old computers that take half an hour to load up. Empowering your staff with computers that are fit for purpose and are fast and responsive will also lead to happier staff and less embarrassing issues when patients are in the chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patients are changing. The younger generations expect a certain level of technology in your practice. I have seen practices where there are no reception desks\u2014patients come in, are seated in a casual lobby and staff with iPads sit down and check them in. Experience is everything and this is often backed by technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-can-help\">Who can help?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Having the right IT partner is essential for security and stability. There are a number of quality IT providers that can keep you secure and stable. The real diamond in the rough is finding a partner that can help you re-invent and provide a platform that you can build on for the future not just maintain what you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elevating your practice with technology is not something that can happen all by itself. It\u2019s a conscious decision and surrounding yourself with the right people will make that process easier.
