painless injection system

VibraJect is a simple, cost-effective solution to alleviate injection discomfort during local anaesthesia procedures. It produces a mild vibrating movement that ‘tricks’ the brain, making the injection essentially painless.

What’s good about it?

The vibrating movement is carried by the nerves to the brain, overriding the pain message that’s produced by the injection. As most dental patients have a fear of needles, a device like this is a great way to help them overcome that fear. Their relief is obvious once I’ve used VibraJect with them.

According to the manufacturer, when administering local anaesthesia, the light pressure of a Vibraject injection is carried rapidly to the brain on thicker more insulated nerve tissues. The pain of a needle prick travels on thinner nerve tissues, arriving too late for the brain to register the sensation.

It easily snaps onto a standard syringe and can be used with all types of dental injections. It’s also a good idea to inform the patient that you are using the device in order to lessen their pain and discomfort. The clip bracket can stay attached to the syringe and be autoclaved. The body of the unit containing the motor can be sterilised with alcohol or disinfectant wipes.

I’ve had great results since I started using VibraJect with patients informing me that they felt no pain. This also increases patient acceptance of dental treatment.

What’s not so good

This system works with two button batteries, size LR44. The batteries tend to drain quickly and need to be changed very frequently. The switch on the unit is a bit bulky and is rotated to turn on.

Where did you get it
