Are you a dentist seeking to expand your implantology expertise, build clinical confidence, and take your practice to the next level? At the Australasian Implant Academy (AIA), we’re proud to be the trusted choice for implant courses offering comprehensive theory and hands on implant training – whether you’re just starting with implants or aiming to master the most complex full arch procedures.
Co-founded by respected implantologists Dr Dean Licenblat, Dr Ned Restom and Dr David Bassal, we’ve built a strong reputation for our clinically relevant, skills-based approach to dental education. We know that true confidence comes from doing. At AIA, you won’t just listen to lectures – we offer immersive courses that focus on live patient training and personalised mentorship, ensuring you learn the skills that matter most from some of the most experienced clinicians in the field.
First and Only Implant Education Program NYU Accredited
AIA is thrilled to be the first and only implant education program accredited by the globally renowned New York University College of Dentistry (NYU Dentistry). One the most prestigious dental schools in the United States and the world, NYU Dentistry is the third oldest and the largest dental school in the US, educating nearly 10% of the nation’s dentists.
In October 2025, we’ll be hosting a flagship 5-day Fellowship in New York for a select number of carefully selected participants. This program will offer advanced implant training plus the opportunity to learn from and network with global leaders in implantology.

Hands-On Experience That Stays With You
We were the first implant academy in Australia to offer live patient surgery under general anaesthetics, giving students a rare opportunity to work with real cases from start to finish. This means you won’t just walk away with a certificate – you’ll walk away with practical techniques that can be implemented in your own clinic from day one.
“Dentists don’t just want to sit in a lecture theatre; they want to roll up their sleeves and work with real patients,” says AIA co-founder Dr Dean Licenblat. “That’s what leads to growth, and it’s central to everything we offer at AIA.”
Through AIA’s partnership with Smile On Clinics, students can undertake live patient surgery in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art surgical training facility, which opened in July 2025 on the NSW Central Coast – designed to provide the ideal space for immersive, hands-on implant training.
Our courses are also backed by ongoing mentorship, ensuring participants continue to receive guidance and support long after the training has wrapped up. It’s this long-term commitment to your clinical success that makes AIA stand out.
