I regularly use Clearfil Majesty ES-2 and have been happy with this composite. I expected Clearfil Majesty Flow to be of similar user-ability in flow form but it’s quite difficult to work.
What’s good about it
ES-2 is a universal composite that provides a very adaptable shading. I like its handling characteristics in terms of packability. It’s not sticky and holds its colour nicely. I use a universal shade with posterior teeth but it has such a wide range of shades, it’s suitable for anterior teeth too.
I’ve been using ES-2 for around four years, and it has stood up well regarding longevity. I haven’t had any failures or issues over that time. Sensitivity can indicate excessive shrinkage and, again, I’ve had no problems in that regard.
Clearfil Majesty Flow is a similar product with a lower viscosity. My issue is that I find it a little too runny so it doesn’t hold its shape as well as some competitors. I also think the colour of Flow isn’t as nice as the ES-2. It’s just my personal preference but I prefer a flowable composite to be a little firmer so it doesn’t slump as easily.
I use ES-2 regularly and find it to be durable, easy to use and it has a nice range of shades.
What’s not so good
While I use Clearfil Majesty Flow occasionally, it doesn’t suit my style of dentistry. It’s too runny and the shade match is not as good as the ES-2 range.
